What to pack in a shoebox?

These items ARE allowed in Shoeboxes:

•  Playing cards

•  Batteries (in original packaging or with both ends taped)

•  Wet wipes or plain alcohol wipes

•  Toy spiders/bugs/snakes

•  Superheroes or other licensed characters

•  Items with company logos

•  All types of scissors

•  Squirt guns (that don’t look like real guns)

•  Glow sticks

•  Compact mirrors

•  Lip balm (non-medicated)

•  Playdough (store bought)

•  Solid stick deodorant

•  Makeup (non-liquid)

•  Adhesive bandages (non-medicated)

•  Disposable or reusable feminine hygiene products

•  Eating utensils

•  Marbles

•  Bibles or other religious literature or symbols

 

These items ARE NOT allowed in Shoeboxes:

   X   Vaseline®

   X   Scary items (things that frighten  rather than bring joy)

   X   War-related items (toy soldiers, military vehicles, or

                   wearable camouflage)

   X   Liquid paint sets or liquid glue

   X   Rubber balls with liquid filling

   X   Liquid lip gloss

   X   Matches or fire starters

   X   Seeds

   X   Sand/rocks/shells gathered from nature

   X   All types of food, candy, or gum

   X   Medications or vitamins

   X   Toothpaste

   X   Nail polish

   X   Money or play money

   X   Baby powder

   X   Baking soda

   X   Razors

   X   Liquids or lotions

   X   Breakable items or glass containers

   X   Aerosol cans

   X   Used clothing or toys
